The Word says in Psalm 127:3-5 that children are an inheritance and a reward from the Lord! We wholeheartedly agree. Several times per year, Victory partners with parents in dedicating their children unto the Lord. This is accomplished by parents bringing their children before the Victory family and committing to rear them in a Godly fashion with the help of the church. The scriptural root for this type of dedication is found in 1 Samuel 1:27-28:

I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the LORD. For his whole life he will be given over to the LORD (NIV).

We recognize that the dedication of a child does not give salvation, rather salvation only comes through Jesus Christ as each person recognizes his or her sinfulness and receives forgiveness and eternal life through Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord. It is a time, however, when parents are encouraged to actively commit themselves to provide everything necessary for the growth of their child: physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual (Proverbs 22:6, Deuteronomy 6:6-7, Ephesians 6:4).
