Season 10
2008-2009

Enrollment Day is August 16
Classes begin September 2

ARRIVAL / SECURITY **NEW FOR SEASON 10**

We want to provide the safest facility possible for you and your students to be active in. Each family will recieve a VSA keychain at the time of enrollment that will act as a pass to and from class, as well as allowing only those with family keychains to pick up a student from class.

When you enter the building for class, you will need to show your keychain at the security desk. This will allow you into the main hallway where the studio rooms are located. Dancers MUST wear their dress code tshirt they receive at the time of enrollment. This will act as their pass to enter the studio hallways.

If for some reason, you misplace your keychain, or a student forgets to wear their shirt, they will be asked to check in at the Info Desk to recieve a 'visitor' sticker.

For safety and student accountability, all students under the age of 11 are to be physically brought to their classroom by a parent or guardian. PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW YOUR CHILD TO ENTER THE CHURCH ON THEIR OWN.

Students should arrive promptly. We suggest that students arrive at least 5-10 minutes prior to class time. If a student is more than 15 minutes late to class and misses class warm-up, the teacher may ask the student to sit and observe class instead of participating. This is not a punishment, but is for their physical safety. This decision will be made at the discretion of the individual teacher.

DEPARTURE / SECURITY **NEW FOR SEASON 10**

Students under the age of 11 will not be allowed to leave class until a parent or guardian picks them up from the class. Only those with family keychains will be allowed to pick up students under age 11 from class. If you forget your keychain, you will need to check in at the Info Desk and receive a Visitor Pass.
Please do not ask your child to meet you in the parking lot for pick up. Please physically come to the room to pick them up. Also, please be aware that class schedules are planned with classes starting back to back. Your prompt pick up of your child is appreciated and will allow our class schedule to continue as planned.

CLASS COMMITMENT

Teaching a student the meaning of commitment is another basic building block of character - and commitment is always costly! If your child seems discouraged, please let us know. Many times there may be some simple solution to the problem, or an extra dose of encouragement may do the trick.

Sometimes the strenuous nature of dance combinations, the challenges of learning new music, and the difficulty of completing a task presents an overwhelming reaction in a student. We want to stress the importance of finishing a class and learning to respond rather than react to frustrations that might seem insurmountable but can realistically be conquered and mastered.

OPEN ENROLLMENT

Enrollment is open for dance students through November 5, 2008. In preparation for the annual end-of-year production, dance students are not accepted after this date.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

In cases of inclement weather ONLY, Victory School of the Arts will follow the Putnam City Schools cancellation schedule. If Putnam City Schools are closed due to ice, snow, etc. VSA will not have classes.
