Season 10
2008-2009
Enrollment Day is August 16
Classes begin September 2
Please encourage your children to pray for their teachers, faculty, and staff of Victory School of the Arts. Please review the Student Guidelines on the previous page with your child. Please support and endorse their importance.
Dress Code Things to Remember:
• Be dressed properly for class, according to the dress code. Remember to have your hair pulled up and out of your face - see class hair requirements.
• Jewelry should not be worn during class with the exception of small earrings and wedding rings.
• Leotards are like bathing suits and are not to be worn with underwear. There reaches an age at which some dancers need additional coverage for support and modesty. There are specific undergarments made for dancers that can be purchased at dancewear stores.
• Dancers should practice good personal hygiene by bathing daily and wearing deodorant.
• Avoid wearing anything with a scent, such as lotions or perfumes. Many people are sensitive to smells and some even have allergic reactions.
Class Preparation for Parents
We expect our students to be prompt to their class or lesson. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Parents of children under age 8: Please arrive in time to assist your child to dress for class and have their hair appropriately fixed.
Parents of children over age 8: Please arrive in enough time for your child to dress, fix their hair, warm up and stretch before class.
Students should wait quietly for their class to begin. Parents, please help us to encourage this.
In the event that you are late, please do not interrupt the class to give the teacher an explanation. The teacher can speak with you in detail at the end of class.
Please call the VSA office if you know ahead of time that you or your child will be late or absent so that we may notify the teacher. 405.440.2186.
Good nutrition is essential for students' physical and mental health. Please plan accordingly with the foods you pack for snacks.
Please take a few minutes to write your child's first and last name on all their dancewear, including: both shoes, tights, leotards, bags, jackets, etc.
PARENT OBSERVATION
As a general rule, parents are not allowed to observe classes. To ease the transition for our younger dancers, we do allow exceptions the first week of classes. Parents are allowed to observe class during Family & Friends Week in the Fall and Spring semesters.
